Our Commitment

NamasteNode is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards to make our content available to the widest possible audience.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

Measures Taken

NamasteNode takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML5 semantic elements (<main>, <nav>, <article>, <aside>, <header>, <footer>) throughout the site.
  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. We provide a "Skip to main content" link and focus trapping in modal dialogs.
  • Screen Reader Support: We use ARIA labels, roles, and live regions to ensure screen readers can interpret our content and interactive features.
  • Color Contrast: We maintain a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text in both dark and light themes.
  • Reduced Motion: We respect the prefers-reduced-motion media query and disable animations for users who prefer reduced motion.
  • Alt Text: All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked with aria-hidden="true".
  • Responsive Design: Our site works across all screen sizes and does not disable pinch-to-zoom functionality.
  • Dark and Light Themes: Users can switch between dark and light themes based on their preference.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of the site may not yet be fully accessible:

  • Third-party advertisements served through Google AdSense may not meet all accessibility standards. We have limited control over the content and format of these ads.
  • Some older code examples in blog posts may not have optimal syntax highlighting contrast in all themes.
  • PDF or downloadable documents, if any, may not be fully accessible.
